Aero India international aerospace show concludes in Bengaluru

In addition, Russia unveiled the Lancet-E unmanned aircraft system’s export version

BENGALURU /India/, February 14. /TASS/. The Aero India 2025 international aerospace show where Russia demonstrated over 500 military products, including the fifth-generation Su-57E multirole fighter jet as its key exhibit has concluded in Bengaluru.

The Aero India air show was held on February 10-14 for the 15th time in its history on the premises of the Yelahanka Air Force base in Bengaluru in southern India. Overall, 150 foreign firms, including more than 10 major Russian defense holding companies participated in the air show.

As the Russian state arms seller Rosoboronexport reported, Russia’s arms exports to India stand at about $80 billion. Russia offers India large-scale projects of jointly developing and manufacturing military aircraft, helicopters, air defense systems, armor and ammunition and jointly promoting these products in third countries.

The export version of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet that has proven its high efficiency in the special military operation in Ukraine was the main premiere of the air show in Bengaluru. The aircraft was piloted by merited test pilot, Hero of Russia Sergey Bogdan. Russia prepared a new flight program specially for the Aero India air show. The demonstration flights by the Su-57E fighter jet, during which Bogdan showed the skills of aerobatic maneuvers, enjoyed great success among the viewers.

In addition, Russia’s state arms exporter demonstrated advanced air-launched missiles intended for the weapons suite of generation 4++ and fifth-generation Russian-and foreign-made fighters during its presentation at the Aero India air show.

New and upgraded systems at Aero India air show

Russia’s Rosoboronexport demonstrated the latest mobile Pantsyr-S1M multichannel surface-to-air missile/gun system at the Aero India air show. The Pantsyr-S1M features improved performance characteristics, including an extended range and altitude of engaging aerial targets.

In addition, Russia unveiled the Lancet-E unmanned aircraft system’s export version. The UAV has proven its high efficiency in the special military operation in Ukraine.

Also, Russia’s Almaz-Antey Group unveiled information at the Aero India international air show on a new Gardenia two-container active jamming station designed to protect aircraft from air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles.

The Gardenia two-container acting jamming station is designed for individual, individual-mutual and group protection of aircraft by interfering with airborne and ground-based radars and radar stations, the presentation materials said.

The new jammer can be adapted to modern aircraft, including foreign-made airplanes. The Gardenia is mounted on two aircraft hardpoints. Its advanced information interaction tools allow the jammer to be adapted to radio-electronic equipment of various frontline aircraft, Almaz-Antey said.

The segment of Russia’s air defense systems featured models of the weapons employed in the special military operation in Ukraine and distinguished by their high efficiency. In particular, Russia demonstrated the S-400 Triumf long-range anti-aircraft missile system and the Tor family of short-range air defense systems: the autonomous combat modules of the stationary and mobile Tor-M2KM systems, the Tor-E2 tracked and Tor-M2K wheeled vehicles.

These air defense systems are designed to shield vital facilities and troops from air strikes, cruise, anti-radiation and other missiles, air bombs and drones.
