US sees no need of troops redeployment after recent militants’ attacks in Syria — Pentagon

On November 30, the Syrian armed forces’ command stated that the army was conducting strikes on the positions of terrorists who had infiltrated many neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo and was awaiting reinforcements

WASHINGTON, December 3. /TASS/. The US administration sees no need of introducing changes to present-day deployment of American forces following recent terrorist attacks in Syria, Pentagon Spokesman Patrick Ryder said.

"No changes to my knowledge. As you know, we've publicly talked about before, we have approximately 900 US forces deployed to Syria to support the enduring defeat of ISIS [outlawed in Russia] mission," Ryder said at a news briefing.

"That's another reason they're there. These forces are primarily in what I would describe eastern or northeastern Syria as they've been for a while," he continued.

"So no proximity to what's going on in northwestern Syria near Aleppo and down near Hama. But again, we'll continue to monitor that closely," Ryder added.

On the morning of November 27, the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group (banned in Russia) launched a large-scale attack on a broad front in northern Syria. According to a statement by the Syrian Armed Forces’ Command, the terrorists attempted to attack villages and towns under the protection of the Syrian army and military facilities, continuing to target government forces' positions. The Syrian army launched an operation to repel the raid.

On November 30, the country’s armed forces’ command stated that the army was conducting strikes on the positions of terrorists who had infiltrated many neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo and was awaiting reinforcements. According to the Syrian Defense Ministry’s statement, the army was forced to reorganize its forces to protect the lives of civilians and troops and prepare for a counterattack.
