MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called the meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin held the day before "productive" and noted that important agreements were reached.
"Yesterday, Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] and I discussed practically the entire scope of our interstate relations, held very productive talks and reached very important agreements," he said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Wednesday.
Pashinyan added that Russia is Armenia's main trade and economic partner and the volume of trade between the two countries is growing. According to him, Moscow and Yerevan are actively cooperating within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and they also have rich experience in energy cooperation. The Armenian prime minister said that the countries plan to further develop cooperation in transport sector and other sectors where they already have concrete plans.
Putin and Pashinyan had talks on Tuesday. The leaders adopted a joint statement, advocating the development of integration in the EAEU, including an increase in the share of settlements in national currencies, expressed concern about unilateral sanctions by several countries and agreed to jointly overcome challenges, including in the field of food and energy security and logistics. Pashinyan and Putin also noted the need to intensify interaction in a trilateral format together with Azerbaijan and signed a program of cooperation in the energy sector.
