WASHINGTON, November 15. /TASS/. Israel has allegedly destroyed an Iranian facility which was conducting research on nuclear weapons, Barak Ravid, who writes for Axios, reported citing US and Israeli officials.
According to them, the facility was located in Parchin and was presumably active. The sources claim that the Israeli strike destroyed the equipment there. The article notes that Israel "significantly damaged" Iran’s capabilities.
In October, Axios reported that an Israeli strike on Iran had disabled a crucial component of Iran's ballistic missiles production program.
On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces reported strikes on military objects in Iran in response to "numerous continuous attacks." The Iranian Air Defense Forces said in a statement that military facilities in the Ilam, Tehran and Khuzestan provinces were attacked, but the damage was insignificant and the main strike was successfully repelled. The attack killed at least four Iranian soldiers, the Iranian army reported.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian earlier said that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons. Since 2003, Iran has adhered to a fatwa issued by its supreme leader, which banned the production of nuclear weapons because it runs contrary to Islam. Iranian politicians have cited this as proof of the exclusively peaceful nature of the country's nuclear program.
