Russia’s Emelianenko defeated by Bader in last career fight

The fight ended with the technical knockout in the first round

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Fedor Emelianenko lost his last career fight to American MMA fighter Ryan Bader in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

The fight ended with the technical knockout in the first round. The Russian MMA artist officially announced the end of the career after the fight.

He entered the fight without a Russian flag, like other Russian athletes competing in Bellator.

In January 2019, Bader defeated Emelianenko by technical knockout in the first round at the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix Final and won the vacant title. Bader was able to defend the belt in fights against Russian Valentin Moldavsky and Frenchman Cheick Kongo. Another fight with Kongo was declared invalid.

Emelianenko (46) suffered his seventh defeat. He has 40 wins, one fight was declared invalid. The Russian is a former champion of Pride, Rings and WAMMA (World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts), four-time world champion and nine-time champion of Russia in combat sambo. At the moment, Emelianenko is the president of the MMA Union of Russia.

Bader is 39 years old, he now has 31 wins in mixed martial arts, seven defeats, one fight was declared invalid.
