SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, November 10. /TASS/. Relation between Russia and Africa cam serve as an example for the United Nation and Group of Twenty (G20) countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the closing ceremony of the first Russia-Africa partnership ministerial conference.
"I am convinced that the tone of today’s speeches - the willingness to look for agreements reflecting the fair balance of interests - is, to a certain extent, an example for other structures, either the G20 or the United Nations, where out Western colleagues do not want to work honestly but impose their will on all the rest, including via the United Nations’ literally privatized secretariat, where the West is represented primarily on those positions that determine the organization’s policy," he said.
The top Russian diplomat thanked his African colleagues lauded the former Soviet Union’s role in the process of decolonization and noted that Russia will continue working in the spirit characteristic of the two Russia-Africa summits. "We will prepare the third summit and arrange the work of our ministerial conference in the same spirit," he pledged.
The first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa partnership forum was held in the Sirius Federal Territory on November 9 and 10. Around 1,500 delegates, including 45 ministers from African countries, took part.
