Russian mission in Vienna slams IAEA resolution on Russian actions ‘unprofessional’

Reuters earlier reported that the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution Thursday calling on Russia to "immediately cease all actions" at Ukrainian nuclear facilities

VIENNA, November 18. /TASS/. Russia's permanent mission in Vienna slammed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution on Russia's actions at nuclear facilities in Ukraine as unprofessionally drafted, according to its Twitter account.

"At today's meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, an unprofessionally drafted resolution that goes beyond the Agency's mandate and contains factual errors on nuclear safety, nuclear security and safeguards in Ukraine was adopted," the mission said on Thursday. The Russian mission also noted that the countries in which "more than a half of humanity lives" refused to support the resolution. " Russia and China voted against. India, Kenya, Namibia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Vietnam abstained," the mission pointed out.

Reuters earlier reported that the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution Thursday calling on Russia to "immediately cease all actions" at Ukrainian nuclear facilities. In addition, the resolution expressed concern about "pressure on Ukrainian service personnel" at the nuclear power plant as well as repeated violations of external power supply as a result of shelling of the adjacent territory.
