Lavrov says Ukraine seeking to undermine CIS contacts

It is reported that a CIS summit is currently underway in Astana

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Kiev seeks to undermine the existing relations among member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on the sidelines of the Astana-hosted CIS summit on Friday.

"We concluded long ago that we should rely on those who want to foster cooperation. Ukraine is seeking to undermine all ties that are available in the CIS space," the top Russian diplomat said.

A CIS summit is currently underway in Astana. No one is representing Ukraine at the meeting, since Kiev abstained from the organization’s events in recent years.
