BOAO /China/, March 28. /TASS/. Russia is the "world champion" in terms of sanctions imposed against it, but nevertheless the country demonstrates economic growth and is mastering the production of new products, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said at the Boao Forum for Asia (BAF).
"28,500 sanctions have been introduced against Russia, and this is more than anything that was ever introduced against all countries in the world in the past. We are, as I said, growing at 4.1% rate, and the biggest problem that we have now in Russia is that we are worried that if sanctions are lifted, we would not be able to develop as we planned to," Overchuk stated with a smile.
As an example, he named the Russian aviation industry, where "regional jets made the first flight with all Russian parts, including Russian engines" as well as agriculture, where Russia remains "the world's number one exporter of grain" and is mastering the production of new products.
"And you can just go and name and give examples and examples of things that we didn't do, the things that we're doing now," Overchuk concluded.
