Oil and gas account for third of Russian-Chinese trade turnover — Deputy Prime Minister

In 2023, Russia supplied 107 million tons of oil to China, meeting 20% of China's needs for it

KAZAN, November 15. /TASS/. Energy resources currently account for a third of Russian-Chinese trade turnover, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

"As for energy, today about one third of the total trade and economic turnover between our countries is energy. This is a very large volume," he said at the forum "Sprouts: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation."

Novak noted that Russia and China are cooperating in all areas of energy. He added that in 2023, Russia supplied 107 million tons of oil to China, meeting 20% of China's needs for it, while gas supplies to China amounted to about 40 billion cubic meters.

The international forum "Sprouts: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" was held in Kazan from November 13 to 15. The forum's business program included 70 sessions on trade, investment, technology, logistics, petrochemicals, agriculture, education, tourism and more.
