Pakistani delegation heads to Russia to negotiate supply of petroleum products — newspaper

ISLAMABAD, November 28. /TASS/. A delegation from Pakistan led by State Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik left for Russia on Monday for talks on the procurement of Russian crude oil and petroleum products, the newspaper Business Recorder reported.

According to its information, Pakistani officials will discuss the possibility of signing a treaty on the supply of crude oil and petroleum products from Russia. The Pakistani plan of purchasing Russian oil at reduced cost has been gaining popularity in recent months amid rising global energy costs, the newspaper noted. Islamabad has repeatedly stated its intention to sign a treaty with Moscow "on favorable terms and conditions".

In October 2022, Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the Islamic Republic was considering the purchase of Russian oil. It was noted that Pakistan was ready to buy fuel products from Russia at the same price as India.
