Russia, Ukraine exchange 150 prisoners of war from each side

Currently, all the Russian servicemen are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus where they are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. Russia has returned 150 servicemen from Ukrainian captivity in exchange for 150 captured soldiers of Ukraine’s army, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

"On February 5, 150 Russian servicemen were brought back from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime as a result of the negotiating process. In exchange, it handed over 150 Ukrainian prisoners of war. Currently, all the Russian servicemen are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus where they are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance. They have also been provided with an opportunity to get in touch with their relatives," the ministry said in a statement.

All the Russian servicemen released from Ukrainian captivity will be brought to Russia for medical treatment and recovery at medical institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry, it specified.

"The United Arab Emirates assisted in the return of the Russian servicemen from captivity through humanitarian mediation," it added.
