Russia’s industrial production rises by 8.2% in December 2024

The figure increased by 15% compared to the previous month

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. The volume of industrial production in Russia in December 2024 increased by 8.2% compared to December 2023, while the figure for 2024 grew by 4.6%, according to the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat) data.

In December 2024, industrial production increased by 15% compared to the previous month.

According to statistics, mineral extraction in Russia in December increased by 1.3% year-on-year (-0.9% in 2024), production in the manufacturing industry increased by 14% (+8.5% for the year). In the electricity, gas, and steam supply industry the figures decreased by 2.8% in December (+2.3% for the year), in the water supply, sewerage, and waste disposal sector the production growth was 0.8% (-0.1% for the year).

Rosstat also reported that in December, production of finished metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 49.6% year-on-year, production of other transport vehicles and equipment (including aircraft, shipbuilding, etc.) - by 44.8%, production of medicines and medical and veterinary materials - by 34.7%, production of computers, electronic, and optical products - by 27%.
