CAIRO, May 11. /TASS/. Interim Prime Minister of Libya Fathi Bashagha announced the withdrawal of the blockade of oil fields and ports that lasted for almost one month.
"The efforts of the parliament and the government of Libyan to reopen the oil fields and ports were crowned with success," he tweeted Tuesday. According to Bashagha, protesters agreed to lift the blockade of all oil objects that lasted since mid-April due to political disagreements.
According to economists’ assessments, Libya lost over $150 million every day due to stopped oil extraction and shipment. Meanwhile, Libya suffered approximately $100 billion of damage, caused by acts of sabotage on oil infrastructure, which suspended oil extraction every time, over the course of last eight month, according to the country’s Central Bank.
