Kamaz can ramp up production — Russia’s Deputy PM

Kamaz forecasts the production rate at the level of 180 vehicles per day, the company said earlier

NABEREZHNYE CHELNY, March 22. /TASS/. Russian truck producer Kamaz is going to scale up production in the coming month, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov told reporters on Tuesday.

"The plant has plans of ramping up production. Consumers confirm the demand even in the current situation," Borisov said during the business visit to the automobile plant.

Kamaz forecasts the production rate at the level of 180 vehicles per day, the company said earlier.

Withdrawal of foreign players from the Russian automobile market is an opportunity for Kamaz to capture a greater market share, the official said.

"There is also a positive piece of news. Players on the so-called ‘premium market’ - Scania and MAN - will leave our market in conditions of sanctions. This market is essentially a potential opportunity for Kamaz to capture the whole volume. We will try to help it, so that we dominate this market since 2023 at the least," Borisov noted.
