Russian top brass posts clip of Malka heavy artillery guns pounding Ukraine’s military

The Malka self-propelled artillery gun is designed to strike vital enemy targets and facilities in a tactical defense depth beyond the frontlines

MOSCOW, May 27. /TASS/. The Russian Defense Ministry uploaded video clips showing the ‘world’s most powerful’ 203mm 2S7M ‘Malka’ heavy artillery guns at work against Ukrainian military sites.

"We are hammering away against enemy manpower, weapons and fortifications, for example, bunkers," a crewmember of the Malka self-propelled artillery system said in the video posted on Friday.

A Malka strike is enough to wipe out a three-or five-story bunker, he emphasized.

Russia’s troops are employing Orlan-10 drones to timely spot and adjust artillery fire, the ministry said.

The Malka is an upgrade of the 2S7 Pion howitzer developed in the 1980s and still considered among the world’s most powerful cannons.

The Malka self-propelled artillery gun is designed to strike vital enemy targets and facilities in a tactical defense depth beyond the frontlines. The heavy cannon boasts a rate of fire of 2.5 rounds per minute and can wipe out targets at a range of about 50 km.
