MOSCOW, May 11 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s biggest air carrier, Aeroflot – the Russian Airlines, will have a number of its planes decorated with symbols of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
The presentation of one such plane is due on May 15, a source in the air company told ltar-Tass.
Aeroflot is the general partner of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. The company’s planes will have on their boardsides the images of the mascots of the Games – a leopard, a polar bear, and a hare. The images will be pasted up on boardsides by special technique so as to withstand temperatures of a considerable range. This work will be done by a technical unit of the Finnish company Finair.
Aeroflot had earlier had a Boeing 767 liner covered with a special coating. The plane that was used to carry athletes and guests to the Beijing Olympics was stylized as the Firebird.
Aeroflot is, traditionally, the partner of Russia’s Olympic Committee.
