Circumstances of murder

- Portnov was shot dead in Pozuelo de Alarcon, a wealthy suburb of Madrid, not far from the entrance to a local elite school.

- According to the ABC newspaper, the assassin escaped the crime scene. The police are now searching for him.

- The newspaper said that eyewitnesses noted that the murderer was wearing a blue sportswear.

- He may have had accomplices, ABC added.

- The newspaper's sources also said that the incident occurred after Portnov dropped his kids off at the elite school.
