Turkey ready to host Ukraine talks — Erdogan

The Turkish leader expressed hope that "2025 will be the year of reconciliation"

ANKARA, February 24. /TASS/. Turkey is ready to contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and host the negotiations, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"Just as we did at the beginning of the conflict three years ago, today we are determined to make every effort to end the war through negotiations," Erdogan said in a video message posted on his social media.

"At the same time, we continue to resolutely support the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Last week in Ankara, we discussed with Mr. [Vladimir] Zelensky the contribution that Turkey could make at this important stage, and its desire to host the talks."

The Turkish president sees motivation to find a settlement "based on diplomacy, dialogue and negotiations gaining steam."

"We hope that this process will lead to the end of the conflict and the establishment of permanent peace," Erdogan added.

He expressed hope that "2025 will be the year of reconciliation.".
