BEIJING, April 7. /TASS/. At an informal meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping said he shared similar views with the leader of France on bilateral relations as well as on many international issues, China Central Television reports.

"I am very happy that we see eye-to-eye or have similar views on Sino-French relations, Sino-European relations and many international and regional issues, which reflects the high level and strategic nature of Sino-French relations," President Xi said.

Xi Jinping said he and Macron have had an in-depth and thorough exchange of views in Beijing and Guangzhou over the past two days. According to him, the leaders strengthened mutual understanding and mutual trust, as well as specified the trajectory of future cooperation between China and France at the bilateral and international levels.

"I am ready to continue to maintain close strategic communication with you in order to take the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level," Xi Jinping said.

The French president's state visit to China runs from April 5 to April 7. On April 6, Xi Jinping and Macron held the official part of their talks, discussing bilateral cooperation between Beijing and Paris, relations between China and the European Union, as well as the Ukrainian crisis. On April 7, the two sides issued a joint statement following the talks.
