MINSK, March 4. /TASS/. The Belarusian Cabinet of Ministers authorized the Ministry of Transport and Communications to sign a protocol on amendments to the motor service agreement with Iran, with the relevant Cabinet instruction posted on the national legal web portal.
"The draft protocol on amendments to the agreement between the government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the international motor service dated February 4, 1998, to be approved <...> as the basis for negotiations," according to the document. The Ministry of Transport Communications is authorized to hold talks on the draft protocol and "sign the protocol if the agreement is reached within the framework of the approved draft," the Cabinet said in the document.
Minsk and Tehran would soon sign an agreement establishing the procedure of international motor freight transportation without obtaining permits, Belarusian Transport Minister Aleksey Avramenko said earlier this week. The agreement would be signed "within the coming fortnight," he added.
