MOSCOW, July 30. /TASS/. Russia's volleyball player Alexander Markin was not in the application for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro due to problems with meldonium, Russia's Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko said on Saturday.
"67 people were involved in meldonium, but Russia managed to insist, WADA confirmed they included it too early (in list of banned substances)," he said. "The suffered are Masha (Maria) Sharapova and volleyball player Sasha (Alexander) Markin. It is not clear what the international federation's investigation was about.".
