Moscow hosts draw ceremony for 2024 Games of the Future

The draw was held for Phygital Skateboarding, Phygital BMX, Phygital Fighting and Drone Racing

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia’s capital of Moscow on Wednesday hosted the opening draw for various competition participants of the 2024 Games of the Future.

Well-known Russian blogger Vlad Bumaga kicked off the ticketing program for the tournament’s social media followers and also launched an online contest where they could win prizes, with the grand prize being a family trip to the Russian city of Kazan.

"The Games of the Future are an interesting movement and I intend to closely follow them," Bumaga said. "I am curious to watch the drone race, Phygital MMA bouts and everything else in general."

"I will definitely come to Kazan to watch the birth of something new on the global scale," he added.

Igor Stolyarov, the head of the Games of the Future project, said: "Russia is now the center of the global Phygital movement and will stay this way for the years to come."

"We draw global attention largely owing to our ideology that is aimed at shaping up a harmonious person by combining traditional sports and cyber sports," Stolyarov added.

Wednesday’s draw was held for Phygital Skateboarding, Phygital BMX, Phygital Fighting and Drone Racing.

The inaugural cybersport Games of the Future will be hosted by the Russian city of Kazan between February 21 and March 3, 2024. They will consist of new disciplines combining advanced technology, the digital environment and physical activity.

The competitions are designed to use cutting-edge developments in cybersports, robotics, both augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR), information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI). The tournament offers $25 million in prize money.

As part of the preparations for the Games of the Future, Russia has organized a series of Phygital Games. The first Phygital Games were held in September 2022 and they were followed by numerous editions until today with the most recent one held in Kazan between October 5 and 22.
