LUGANSK, February 14. /TASS/. Russian forces have broken through the Ukrainian army’s second defensive line near Dvurechnaya in the Kharkov Region after two concentrated strikes and trapped the enemy’s combat group in a pincer movement, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS on Friday.
"Russian forces keep exploiting success near the settlement of Dvurechnaya. After two concentrated strikes in the Zapadnoye-Doroshovka and Dvurechnaya-Kutkovka areas, the Russian troops have managed to break through the Ukrainian army’s second defensive line and advance by nearly 1 km. This factor has enabled them to envelop the Ukrainian battlegroup stationed between Dvurechnaya and Zapadnoye in a pincer movement," the military expert said.
Russian forces have taken control of actually all strategic heights in that frontline area, which "aggravates the position of Ukrainian armed formations," he added.
"The interposition space between our forward formations of the Russian army’s attacking forces has narrowed to 2.5 km," he said.
Marochko told TASS on February 11 that Russian forces had dislodged the enemy from a stronghold on the heights near the settlement of Zapadnoye while advancing near Dvurechnaya.
