Sanya to open largest sport fishing mall in Hainan in June

HAIKOU /China/, May 20. /TASS/. The resort city of Sanya will open the largest sport fishing mall on Hainan Island in June, with the building already constructed and recently commissioned. The Hainan Daily newspaper reported this on Saturday.

According to the newspaper, the total area of all floors of the building covers 34,000 square meters. Cultural events for seafood lovers will be held there in addition to fishing.

It is assumed that the large-scale center will attract the attention of tourists from all over China and from other countries, will create additional jobs and stimulate the development of a number of industries. Among the main objectives of this project is to maximize the list of products and services related to the fishing industry in Sanya, increasing the welfare of the local population.

The mall has an extensive shopping area and space for exhibitions and cultural events. There will be a Japanese restaurant specializing in sashimi and other traditional fish dishes. A Hainan delicatessen restaurant and fishmonger's store will open next door. Similar establishments are also located on the second and third floors of the center, and on the fourth floor you can buy high-quality fish semi-finished products. As the newspaper notes, 90% of the establishments are already ready to receive customers and visitors.

Sanya is China's leading resort, home to more than 1 million people. In 2022, its gross product amounted to 84.71 billion yuan (about $12.2 billion). The city reaches an average annual temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius and has a coastline of more than 200 kilometers. There are 19 bays and about 40 islands suitable for tourism in the surrounding waters, all of which enable the local government to successfully develop yacht and beach tourism.
