TASHKENT, November 28. /TASS/. The United States dragged Europe into its sanctions wars against Russia, driving European countries into unemployment, business shutdowns and other dire dilemmas, Russian State Duma (the lower house of parliament) Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said during a visit to Uzbekistan.
Volodin pointed out that the US and Europe had established strategic relations long ago but "this is what it eventually brought to Europe: problems, unemployment and business shutdowns." "The Americans buy energy products at one price but they sell them to Europe at prices that are four times higher. Besides, they have dragged Europe into their sanctions wars against Russia and curtailed our projects that had made it possible to use cheap energy, which was the foundation of industrial development in Germany, France and other countries," Volodin stressed.
According to him, "the heads of EU states have finally started to admit that it was Russian energy resources that served as the basis of European prosperity but the US made the first move to cut their flow to Europe and began to replace them with its own resources." "We can now see the outcome. This all is also clear to those who live in Asian countries, particularly those who have always built relations with us based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and non-interference in each other’s domestic affairs," the State Duma speaker noted.
He also said that a wide range of issues was being discussed during his visit to Uzbekistan, including matters such as shared history, traditional values and cultural issues.
