DONETSK, May 19. /TASS/. Militants from the Aidar nationalist battalion (outlawed as a terrorist group in Russia) are trying to abandon their positions in the village of Novoukrainka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on the border with the Dnepropetrovsk Region, suffering casualties.
A source in security structures told TASS that panic broke out among the militants after a strike on their deployment sites.
"After a series of surgical strikes on Aidar’s deployment sites in Novoukrainka, the remaining militants attempted to flee the village en masse. This attempt resulted in fatalities and injuries," the source said.
The security source added that those who did not manage to escape and survived refuse to take part in further combat.
Earlier, a source in Russian security structures told TASS about the redeployment of militants from the Aidar battalion to this section of the frontline. Later, an attack with non-fragmentation aerial bombs killed 15 militants and wounded about 20.
