German citizen from Kaluga Region who appealed to Putin will receive Russian citizenship

During the press conference, the host read out a question from the Tarusa resident, who had been trying unsuccessfully to become a Russian citizen over the past several years

KALUGA, December 19. /TASS/. Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha assured that nothing should hold back the German man who lives in Tarusa from becoming a Russian citizen, as stated in regards to the request the man made during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s combined Direct Line Q&A session and year-end press conference.

"The German who lives in Tarusa, Lev Deibel, will definitely be made a Russian citizen. He contacted the immigration service with this request yesterday, and received a consultation; he must fill out the proper paperwork. He obtained a residence permit in 2020, so there is nothing to stop him from getting a Russian passport," he said.

During the press conference, the host read out a question from the Tarusa resident, who had been trying unsuccessfully to become a Russian citizen over the past several years. Lev Deibel left for Germany in 1990 and came back to Russia in 2006. Currently, he lives in the Kaluga Region and has a residence permit.

"Provide me with the details about this person later, we will definitely help him," Putin said during the press conference.
