Russian envoy says he arrives at Moldova’s Foreign Ministry for planned meeting

Sources in the Moldovan Foreign Ministry earlier told TASS that the meeting with the ambassador was related to the two fallen drones that had been found in the country’s north and south

CHISINAU, November 12. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Ozerov told reporters upon arrival at the Moldovan Foreign Ministry that he was there for a planned meeting.

"The ministry did not summon us. This is a planned meeting," the envoy said, adding that he would provide more details after the meeting.

Sources in the Moldovan Foreign Ministry earlier told TASS that the meeting with the ambassador was related to the two fallen drones that had been found in the country’s north and south.

Earlier, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry claimed that the drones "were launched from Russia" and described the incident as "an unfriendly move." Moldova’s National Police Inspectorate said that two downed drones had been found in the north and south of the country: one near the village of Firladeni near the town of Causeni, and the other near Borosenii Noi in the Riscani District. The police published photos of the drones. Both were made of cardboard; neither carried explosives.

Moldova has repeatedly made accusations against Russia in connection with drone fragments found in the country, although most of them were identified by experts as boosters of Ukrainian air defense missiles. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova slammed Chisinau's accusations that Russian drones had allegedly violated Moldovan airspace as groundless and strongly rejected them.
