AGADIR, February 7. /TASS/. Russia and Morocco have discussed how to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in the fisheries sector, head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries, Rosrybolovstvo, Ilya Shestakov told TASS.

The discussion took place on the sidelines of the 7th international fisheries exhibition in Agadir, Morocco.

"We and our Moroccan partners hailed longstanding relations of fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Morocco in the fisheries sphere, noting that Moscow and Rabat have signed many intergovernmental agreements on marine fishing since 1992," the official said.

"We reviewed avenues for strengthening areas of cooperation in the fisheries sector that could benefit us both, with scientific and research cooperation and quotas for education of Moroccan nationals in Russian educational institutions among them," Shestakov added.
