ChatGPT developer OpenAI ousts chief executive Sam Altman

Instead, the post will be temporarily filled by the company's technology director, Mira Murati

NEW YORK, November 18. /TASS/. OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, has dismissed CEO Sam Altman, it said in a statement.

"He was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities," said the statement in the company’s blog. "The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI."

Mira Murati, the company's chief technology officer, will replace Altman on an interim basis, according to the statement.

OpenAI released the ChatGPT service in 2022. The chatbot can answer questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect assumptions and reject inappropriate requests. The service's capabilities have attracted widespread public attention.
