MINSK, November 22. /TASS/. Defense ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states have approved proposals to improve the composition of military contingents and formations of special-purpose forces of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force, peacekeeping contingents, national contingents of the Collective Rapid Deployment Force of the Central Asian Collective Security Region and the CSTO Collective Aviation Force, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said.
"Approval has been given to the new structure of the Joint Command of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces, the list of training ranges and training centers provided by the CSTO member states to ensure the formation, training and cohesion of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the participants of the meeting agreed on recommendations for the organization of communication in CSTO battlegroups (Collective Forces) and for the procedure to transfer materiel between their contingents. The defense ministers approved the regulation on the basic research organization in the field of information security of the armed forces of the CSTO member states, the ministry said.
The Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of the Security Council Secretaries of the CSTO member states have held a joint meeting in Minsk.
