Trump's presidency may bring resolution to Gaza crisis, Erdogan hopes

Trump's presidency will have a serious impact on both the political and military landscape in the Middle East, the Turkish president believes

ANKARA, November 8. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed hope for a resolution of the crisis in the Gaza Strip under the US administration of Donald Trump, Anadolu Agency reported.

"Trump has promised to put an end to the conflict initiated by Israel. We wish to see that promise fulfilled and hear calls for Israel to stop. We hope that during Trump's second term, there will be a period of lasting peace and tranquility in the region. We are in favor of peace and tranquility. The lack of a permanent solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue is only spurring a spiral of violence, and our region cannot escape this cycle. Continuation of [Joe] Biden-era policies will worsen the absence of a solution and lead to the spread of conflict in the region. Countries outside it should take all these risks into account when shaping their Middle East policies," Erdogan told reporters upon his return from Budapest, where he attended the meeting of the European Policy Community on November 7.

Trump's presidency will have a serious impact on both the political and military landscape in the Middle East, the Turkish president believes. "All steps aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region will contribute to the building of global peace. Otherwise, the spread of conflicts and the continuation of massacres will cost everyone dearly," Erdogan said.
