Putin sets record at plenary session of Valdai International Discussion Club

It lasted four hours and seven minutes

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The dialogue of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the participants of the Valdai International Discussion Club has become a record in terms of duration for this platform: it lasted four hours and seven minutes.

This year, the discussion began in the evening, so after three hours of conversation, moderator Fyodor Lukyanov had to remark that "it is almost midnight." "And still no Herman," Putin continued with a smile, quoting a line from The Queen of Spades, a famous Russian opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

Despite the late hour, the Russian leader continued to receive questions. In total, the president's speech (58 minutes) and his answers to questions from Valdai participants took more time this year than last year, when the conversation lasted 3 hours and 41 minutes.

The Valdai record so far was 2021, when the conversation lasted 3 hours and 43 minutes.
