Lukashenko says he discussed gas supplies to Europe with Putin, Russia ready to sell them

The Belarusian leader believes that Germany should restore relations with Russia for the sake of its own economy

IGORA /Leningrad Region/, December 26. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he discussed gas supplies to Europe with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Russia is ready to sell it to the Europeans.

"Yesterday I asked Vladimir Vladimirovich if the Russians are ready to sell [gas]. He said they have always been ready. So let them buy, let them pay money to Russia and restore normal relations," Lukashenko said in a video posted on the Telegram channel of the First Information Channel.

In his opinion, Germany in particular will buy gas from Russia. "They [Germany] will buy cheap gas from Russia. Only idiots would not take advantage of this. Especially since there was still one line of the gas pipeline [Nord Stream] - they did not have time to blow it up," the Belarusian leader said. Lukashenko believes that Germany should restore relations with Russia for the sake of its own economy.
