Chinese top diplomat tells Lavrov he expects to 'reach new agreements'

MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), member of the CCP Politburo Wang Yi told his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov that he hoped to ‘reach new agreements’.

"I am ready to exchange views with you, my dear friend, on issues of mutual interest, and I expect to reach new agreements," Wang Yi said.

He stressed that "this year is the first year of the comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China." "We will firmly pursue an independent and autonomous foreign policy and further implement opening-up strategies in the spirit of mutual benefit and win-win," Wang Yi continued, "We will open new horizons for developing cooperation not only with Russia but also with all countries in the world through China's modernization, as well as enrich the essence of interaction with all partners."
