UAC to unveil Il-114-300 aircraft during St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will unveil the Il-114-300 passenger aircraft during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Denis Pogodin, First Deputy Director of the P.A. Voronin Lukhovitsy Aircraft Plant, announced. The P.A. Voronin Lukhovitsy Aircraft Plant is an affiliate of UAC.

Pogodin is in charge of the Il-114 program. He noted that the national aircraft industry has been tasked by the government to ensure technological sovereignty and produce new domestic aircraft.

"My key project, the regional Il-114, is a practical step in this direction. <…> We plan to showcase the aircraft at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and we would be very happy if you could find the opportunity to inspect it in person," Pogodin told President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with graduates of the first cohort of the Time of Heroes program.

The Russian President responded that he would try to find time to see the modernized Il-114 regional jet at Pulkovo.

Pogodin noted that the Il-114-300 is a cost-effective and reliable aircraft designed to replace the aging An-24, An-26, and foreign-made ATR 72 and Bombardier aircraft. According to him, serial production of the aircraft will be organized at the Lukhovitsky Aviation Plant.

Earlier, the Industry and Trade Ministry reported that the Il-114-300 aircraft had completed an additional stage of certification testing in the Arctic.

The Il-114-300 is being developed in cooperation with Rostec state corporation enterprises under the auspices of the Il company of the United Aircraft Corporation. It is a modernized version of the Il-114 turboprop aircraft.

This year, SPIEF will be held on June 3-6.
