Zelensky wins 73.22% of the vote

Pyotr Poroshenko got 24.45% of the vote, the Central Election Commission announced after all 100% ballot papers counted

KIEV, April 23./TASS/. The leader of the Servant of the People political party, Vladimir Zelensky, has won a landslide 73.22% of the vote in the runoff presidential election, the Central Election Commission announced on Tuesday after all 100% ballot papers had been counted.

Pyotr Poroshenko got 24.45% of the vote. According to the Central Election Commission, more than 13.5 million people voted for Zelensky, and 4.5 million Ukrainians supported Poroshenko in the second round of the presidential election.

Ukraine’s presidential runoff took place on April 21. The inauguration is due no later than on May 31.

In the first round of the presidential election on March 31, Zelensky and Poroshenko garnered 30.24% and 15.95% of the vote respectively.
