MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Hungary is currently one of the most popular European destinations for Russian tourists, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported on Monday.
"Travel agents notice that Hungary is one of the most popular European countries among Russians now," the report says.
The popularity of the country is explained by the ease of obtaining a visa, the reasonable cost of air tickets and ground handling. In addition, Hungary is a year-round destination that can satisfy all tourist demands - from excursions and events to medical and health-related trips, ATOR noted.
According to tour operators, Russians often ask about trips to Italy, but rarely book tours there. The Czech Republic, the UK and the Netherlands are in the lowest demand among European destinations. There are individual requests for trips to Slovenia and Slovakia and a certain demand is noted for tours to Greece and Cyprus. As for Asian destinations with which Russia has no direct flights, Vietnam and Indonesia are in steady demand.
