World’s biggest tour operator to arrange Murmansk cruises for Russian tourists

Until recently, the travel group had been arranging only outbound tours for Russians

MURMANSK, November 17. /TASS/. The TUI Travel international group is ready offer Russian tourists cruises to Murmansk, General Director of TUI Russia and CIS, Taras Demura, told TASS on the sidelines of the 5th Murmansk International Business Week.

Until recently, the travel group had been arranging only outbound tours for Russians, Demura said. However, “last year, when a ban was slapped on the tours arranged to Turkey, we launched programs involving travels to Sochi, Veliky Ustyug and Mineralnye Vody, which proved to be quite successful,” he noted.

Demura also noted that TUI “has been operating in Murmansk, arranging tours there for foreigners,” but now the company wanted to offer this tourist product to Russians as well.

“Certainly, a lot needs to be done because not all existing infrastructure facilities are suitable for accommodating large numbers of tourists,” he noted, when pointing out that the Russians would also be interested in tours to Spitzbergen starting from Murmansk.

The government of the Murmansk region and TUI Travel clinched an agreement on collaborating to promote regional tourism products.
