Sikharulidze unanimously re-elected as president of Figure Skating Federation of Russia

MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. Anton Sikharulidze has been re-elected as president of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FSFR), a TASS correspondent reported on Thursday.

Former Olympic Champion Sikharulidze, 49, ran unopposed and was re-elected unanimously to the post of the FSFR president.

He took charge as the president of the FSFR in February 2025 at an extraordinary conference of the organization, where he also ran unopposed. In April 2023, he was appointed the acting head of the federation following the death of Olympic Champion in ice dancing Alexander Gorshkov, who had served as the FSFR president since 2010.

Performing in duo with Yelena Berezhnaya in pair skating events, Sikharulidze won the gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, the silver at the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, also winning two gold and a silver at the World Championships (1998, 1999 and 2001 respectively), as well as two gold and a bronze at the European Championships (1998, 2001 and 1997 respectively).
