60% of Russians may be inoculated against COVID-19 by midyear, vaccine developer says

Russian regions launched mass inoculation against the coronavirus on January 18

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. It will be possible to inoculate against the coronavirus the 60% of Russia’s population necessary to create the immune stratum as early as the middle of this year, Alexander Gintsburg, Director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Healthcare Ministry that developed the vaccine, said.

"Given the level of the vaccine production that exists, I think that by midyear we should achieve the necessary level of 60% of the protected," he said in a joint interview with TASS and the Kazinform news agency.

On January 18, Russian regions launched mass inoculation against the coronavirus.
