MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. The Kremlin has not been making preparations for a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as no signals have been received from the German side so far, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.
"No preparations are being made at the moment. We have not received any signals yet," Peskov explained.
Earlier, Scholz confirmed his intention to hold a telephone conversation with Putin, adding, however, that he would not do so without coordinating with partners. Peskov, for his part, reminded that Putin had always been and remained open to international communication.
The presidential spokesman also recalled Putin's remark that Scholz, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron, had gone out of touch and shown their unwillingness to communicate.
"If they say that some signals will follow, then we should wait. So far, there have been none," Peskov concluded.
The last time Putin and Scholz held a phone conversation was in December 2022. The last face-to-face meeting between the leaders of Russia and Germany took place in the Kremlin on February 15, 2022.
