Trump may be set to change US course on global conflicts, Russian envoy believes

Alexander Lavrentyev also pointed to the potential withdrawal of US troops from Syria

ASTANA, November 11. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump looks set to adjust his country’s foreign policies and reverse its position on conflicts, including the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, Russian Presidential Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev told reporters.

"We’ll see, but apparently, Mr. Trump seems to be willing to kind of change the position and adjust the US administration’s foreign policy course," the Russian diplomat said when asked to comment on the potential withdrawal of US troops ahead of the 22nd Astana format meeting on Syria.

While specific deeds and proposals to be formulated by Trump will show, this offers some kind of perspective, Lavrentyev added.
