Russian forces disrupt Ukrainian attempt to reinforce positions in south Donetsk direction

According to Battlegroup Spokesman Alexander Gordeyev, roughly 155 troops, a T-64 tank, a Rapira anti-tank gun, seven cars and six drones were destroyed

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Over the past 24 hours, Russia’s Battlegroup East improved its forward-edge positions near the south Donetsk sector of the line of engagement, disrupting a similar attempt by Ukrainian troops, Battlegroup Spokesman Alexander Gordeyev told TASS.

"In active combat, units of the Russian battlegroup improved their forward-edge positions, repelled a counterattack by a unit of the 58th motorized brigade near Urozhainoye and prevented the enemy from reinforcing their positions near Makarovka, Ravnopol and Mirnoye," Gordeyev said.

According to him, attack aircraft, artillery and crews manning heavy flamethrowers of the Russian Armed Forces struck strongholds and concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 72nd mechanized brigade, the 128th territorial defense brigade and units of Ukraine’s National Guard near Uglesborochnaya and Staromaiorskoye. "In the past day, roughly [enemy] 155 troops, a T-64 tank, a Rapira anti-tank gun, seven cars and six drones were destroyed," Gordeyev concluded.
