Central African Republic wants Russia to send more military instructors — diplomat

As of July, a total of 1,890 Russian military instructors have been working in the country

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. The Central African Republic (CAR) is interested in inviting more Russian military instructors, Russian Ambassador to CAR Alexander Bikantov has told TASS in an interview.

"The number of Russian instructors has remained unchanged since July. The existing task force is sufficient for helping the CAR government in maintaining security in the country. However, Bangui is interested in inviting more Russian military instructors," the diplomat said.

As of July, a total of 1,890 Russian military instructors have been working in the country.

Earlier, the Russian side said that Russian military instructors had been sent to the Central African Republic on a request from the country’s official government and were successfully fulfilling their missions there. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the president and government of the Central African Republic have a high regard for their work.
