MOSCOW, May 23. /TASS/ The number of the unemployed in Russia this April reached 4.5 mln people, or 5.9 % of the economically active population, which is same as the last year, according to preliminary estimate in the report of the Federal State Statistics Service.
Public employment services registered 1.1 mln people as unemployed, among them 900,000 people that receive unemployment benefits.
The number of people that make up the economically active population as of April 2016, amounts to 76.3 million people, or 52% of the country's population.
Real disposable income in Russia down 7.1% in 2015
According to the report, real disposable income (income minus obligatory payments) of Russian citizens fell by 7.1% year-on-year in April of 2016.
In April, the average income per capita rose 0.1% year-on-year to 31,342 rubles ($466.9). In comparison with March of 2016, average income grew by 8.4%.
In April, the average monthly salary of employees of organizations rose 5.4% year-on-year to 36,210 rubles ($539).
