Putin confirms Russia's plans to achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2060

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Russia, as a responsible participant in global efforts to combat climate change, plans to achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2060, President Vladimir Putin said at an online summit of G20 leaders.

"As a responsible participant in global efforts to combat climate change, Russia plans to achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2060," he said.

As the Russian leader specified, to achieve this goal, the country uses all available and effective tools to reduce greenhouse emissions: nuclear energy, hydropower, increasing the absorption capacity of forests, and environmentally friendly technologies in all sectors of the economy.
