MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. /TASS/. The high (yellow) terrorist threat level has been extended indefinitely in Russia’s southern Bryansk region bordering Ukraine effective 2:00 p.m. Moscow time on February 3, the local government said on Friday.

"In light of reports from law enforcement agencies about continuing threats of a terror attack and the organization of activities to prevent it, the chairman of the Bryansk region’s anti-terror commission and the Bryansk region governor has decided to establish a high (yellow) terrorist threat level starting 2:00 p.m. on February 3, 2023," according to a press statement posted on the government’s website.

The decision will stay in force until further notice.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin decreed to exclude the 15-day term for establishing the high terrorist threat level.

The high terrorist threat level was first imposed in the Bryansk region from April 11 through 25, 2022 and was extended several times, most recently on January 19, 2023.

On April 13, 2022, the Ukrainian side shelled the Novye Yurkovich checkpoint in the Belgorod region’s Klimovo district.
