ANKARA, April 3. /TASS/. During a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the importance of preventing the disruption of his country’s peace efforts in the context of the conflict in Ukraine.
"Erdogan emphasized the importance of ensuring that Turkey’s efforts toward a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war are not derailed. He noted that Turkey had recommended all parties refrain from actions that could lead to an escalation of tensions or undermine stability, such as attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea," Erdogan’s office reported following the conversation.
The Turkish leader also emphasized the importance of ensuring "that the [US-Israeli] war with Iran does not create new hotbeds of the Russia-Ukraine conflict."
